Works by Feng Shan, Liang Yuanwei, and Ma Qiusha are currently presented in Notes on Former Residences, a curated group exhibition at Diplomatic Apartments No. 12 Space.
As constant relocation and circulation become part of everyday life, how do we construct—and how do we define—“dwelling”? In a condition where uncertainty has become the norm, dwelling is no longer merely a fixed concept, but a series of sites and imaginaries: it is the former residence left behind, the temporary place of the present, and the anticipation of the next destination. It may also signify confinement and isolation, or ultimately return to the body itself—the most fundamental site of dwelling.
