Ma Qiusha will participate the Sound on the 4th Floor, a group exhibition at Daimler's Contemporary Art Collection in Berlin. Since 2000, the Daimler Art Collection has focused on works that bring a broader meaning to sound, composition, language and rhythm during the 20th and 21st centuries. In 2019, they will display for the first time in Daimler's contemporary Potsdamer Platz showroom. The collaboration between Daimler and internationally renowned artist Gerwald Rockenschaub brings both visual and conceptual experience to the audience. In the planning of Gerwald Rockenschaub, the exhibition includes not only the video and sound works, but also many works that show the musical structure on the visual and spatial level.

Ma Qiusha will present a single-frequency video work, All My Sharpness Comes From Your Hardness (2011). For almost half an hour, the artist sits in the trunk of an open car, her two skates dangling randomly from the outside, and USES the movement of the car to switch her feet from angle to angle, making the blade look sharp. As the video plays, the audience will follow the artist as she glides along the city's concrete roads. The artist forces herself and the viewer into a highly sensual and uncomfortable situation. But at the same time, the graceful and light gliding movement attracts the viewers to move forward together with the flowing picture.
